Policies

CIRCULATION PERIODS:

All items circulate for 2 weeks. All Items can be renewed twice. There will be no renewal of materials reserved by other patrons.

Item limits: 5 video, 5 audio, 5 periodicals, 20 books.

A patron may only have a total of 20 items at any time.

You must have your library card with you to check out any item. Your library card is permanently assigned to you. Please do NOT throw away. Library cards are updated once a year. The fee for replacing library cards is $2.00. Non-residents must pay a yearly $20.00 fee for a library card. First time applicants may only check out 2 items.

RENEWAL

Interlibrary Loans from outside the Cooperative may not be renewed.

LIBRARY FEES

Overdue fines are .10 per item per day.

Patrons will be responsible for the replacement of damaged, destroyed, or lost items.

LIBRARY CARDS

Library cards are free for anyone who resides in Desoto, Hardee, Highlands, and Okeechobee Counties.

Non-residents must pay a yearly $20.00 fee for a library card.

bullet

When registering for a library card, you will be required to provide proof of residency.

bullet

Minimum age for a card is 5 years old.

bullet

You must have your library card with you to check out any item or use the internet.

SERVICE

Public Meeting Rooms available, contact the Library for details.

Copy machine available for public use.

bullet

Internet access available. Anyone under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Stations may be checked out once a day for a maximum of one hour.

Word Processor stations available.

bullet

E-books available through netLibrary.

bullet

Federal and State of Florida Tax Forms are available January through April.

bullet

Programs for local elementary and home-school students.
